Hey girls --

I asked my boyfriend to make our sorority recruitment video. i think he did a great job from just walking around with his camera at a few events. check it out!! hope you like :)

It was cute, but there were some inappropriate songs (talked about drinking. . . ). It would have been nice to see fewer party scenes and more of the actual sisterhood or philanthropy.

i noticed in one of the pics you used it was written on the hats :easy,not a virgin and I love anal. my question is that the image that you want to give PNM's of sorority women?

I was just about to comment on that . . . not appropriate. :(

The second half of the video was solid, your intramurals and philanthropy look great. However, the first half is filled with people who are either a. drunk, b. dressed like it's their first Halloween away from their parents (:rolleyes:), c. living at a bar all the time, or d. some combination of the above. The first half of the video could potentially cancel out the second half for some pnm's.

agreed... not exactly the most appropriate video out there. I defintely would leave you chapter thinking all they do is party, 24/7!

Not clutching pearls, just passing along the information that your National might have some sort of policy on what is appropriate for posting on FB, YouTube, etc. Keeping that in mind, some judicious editing should go a long way towards improving your image that you portray in the first part of the video.

Personally, I like videos, FB pages, blogs, etc; I think they can help a chapter stand out in a very positive way. Perception is reality, as my favorite professor used to drill into our heads.

the entire section entitled "we rage" just needs to go. at least where i'm from, raging has the connotation of getting black out drunk and behaving in ways that you do not want associated with your sorority at recruitment. a FEW shots of dancing, formal, etc. are okay, but the multiple shots of slutty halloween costumes are not. the paper hat picture quite frankly smacks of hazing - as a PNM, I would think that NMs are made to do embarrassing stuff like that before initiation. as far as song selection goes, the songs are fun and upbeat, but since you're only using clips of them, i think it's best if you use the pieces of the song that aren't explicitly talking about "getting slizzered" etc.

The video screams YOU WANT TO HANG OUT WITH A BUNCH OF DRUNKEN SLUTS ZOMG JOIN TRI DELTA AT TEH UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI!!!

The video has some good points. When producing a video, power point, slide show (those of us who remember them.) or any visual presentation, ask:
1. Who is seeing this?
2. Who are we?
3. What do we want to say?

First, he did a great job with the video.

Second, I concur with everything said above. Things before the 2:30 mark in the video are questionable. I know if this were a Theta video, I would have an issue with the stuff before 2:30.

(The paper hat picture is obviously from a restaurant like Dick's, funny, but probably not good recruitment material).

this seems like it's more geared towards guys...

Also, your campus panhel MAY have a prohibition against having males in your video. Ours did, and you could get a fine, so you might want to check that. I would agree with less images of partying. A few are fine, but a full two minutes of it is a little off putting.

I seriously doubt EO would approve of a lot of the content.

The production quality is very good.

The content needs some serious attention. Have your alumna and recruitment advisers seen this and approved of it?
