Who Should be Batman?

So Mr. Ninjapoodle and I were talking about who should play Batman. Christian Bale is the current but from what I hear, he's done. Who should take over?

Drolefille 02-12-2011 09:35 PM

No one else. Christian Bale's the man. The... BAT.. MAN

NinjaPoodle 02-12-2011 09:38 PM

No he's not..says Mr. NP. LOL!
ETA:
He says Adam West is better.

Drolefille 02-12-2011 09:42 PM

Nah, the camp was fun and Adam West gave it his best, but no one captures both Bruce and Batman the way Bale has in this current edition. If you want camp, i could think of someone else, but not for the serious, grounded, real-world Batman.

Tor.com just did an interesting week's worth of columns on Batman on TV and in movies if you're interested.

Well given that Christian Bale is going to do the next movie he and Chris Nolan will finish the trilogy and it doesn't matter after that.

Previous movies have proven it doesn't take much to play Batman, it's who plays Bruce Wayne that's the question.

So I will reserve my answer until I find out who is directing the next reboot and what direction they want to take it.

!!!!!

And for me, Michael Keaton is the quintessential Bruce Wayne.

Wooden and not at all good at covering his identity with the act of being a multi-millionaire playboy? *ducks*

Mr. NP says:
Kevin Conroy is the ultimate Batman, not Bruce. Animated of course.

Mr. NP disagrees. He's going on a rant right now and I don't feel like typing it all but basically he saying Bale is boring, aside from American Psyco.

ETA:
He's also saying Ledger was really the only thing that saved Bale's version.

Whatever, the Batman Begins was EXCELLENT. Ledger upstaged him but welcome to being Batman with his excellent villians.

Also make him write his own posts :p

Bale is awesome in everything I've seen him in.

LMAO!
I said the same thing re: typing his own posts. Needless to say, he's not a bale fan and I quote, Christian Bale sucks a**! End quote

However, right now, we are going to sit through the Dark Knight so he can try to see your justification of Bale. He says if he is wrong, he will admit that. BTW, he loves the opening.

Drolefille 02-12-2011 11:12 PM

Wait, he's never seen Dark Knight? O.o But then how can he comment about Ledger? Has he seen Batman Begins?

Having seen The Prestige and Equilibrium, two very different movies, I really like everything Bale does.

Also he's hot, but that's really only a fringe benefit.

ETA: To be fair, I can't separate Nolan's universe from Bale's Batman. He might be out of place in another imagining of it, but Nolan created a very REAL Gotham and thus the supernatural and the camp are right out. In that world, Bale is Batman.

NinjaPoodle 02-12-2011 11:18 PM

LMAO! I can not type the comments he is saying right now. I will say though, he is not pleased.
