What GreekChat is, and what it isn't!
 

Since we seem to have a bunch of people on here lately who don't understand what this website is, I thought maybe we could all share what this site is ...and what it isn't. If anyone thinks this is an awful idea, I apologize! :)

GC is:
A place for actives and alumni to meet and enjoy their GLO
A way of brainstorming fun activities for chapters
A way for new members to meet alums and realize that Greek life doesn't end in college!
A place to learn about the history of other GLOs

GC is NOT:
A place for you to drag your organization or any other through the mud
A way for you to air your personal grievances
A place to ask questions that should be answered by visiting the chapter's website

I hope people will add on to this list! Just thought it might be a nice addition to the boards. :)

...and it doesn't have anything to do with Greece! :p

It is not:

A place to ask pretty much anything about NPHC intake or pledging
A place where we discuss reputations of different groups on your campus

A personal therapy session

It is NOT a place to ask WHY you or your pretty princess didn't get a bid to your/her top chapter.

or

a place to ask what went wrong during recruitment.

We don't really know...we weren't there!

GC is not the place to come for sugar-coating. And if you ask a question but don't like the answer you get, please don't come looking for sympathy from others because someone else was "soooo meeeeean".

GC is not the magic 8-ball. If you want to know your chances of getting a bid when you're a second-semester senior at an SEC school with no recs and a 2.2 GPA, we can guess, but we really can't tell you.

It is:
A place to shamelessly stalk blinged out badges from your chapter and others ;)

It's not: A place to market your website, blog, products etc...

It is: a place to read through old threads for advice to common questions, and post AFTER you determine your question is new.

It is not: a place for you to ask about your "unique" situation, and then get annoyed when people tell you what you don't want to hear.

It is:
A place to discuss current events with other college educated people.

It is not:
A place to prosletyze your opinion a la Frodobaggins.

It is NOT a place to solicit recommendations from strangers.

*Double like*

It is a place to share what's working well with your chapter or alumnae association.

It is NOT a place to post obscene pictures.
