Weird Website

http://deltazetahouse.com/

Is this for real??

Did a search on your official Delta Zeta website and the Maharishi University of Management is not listed as hosting a chapter.

Suggest you forward this link to your HQ; I'm sure they'll be interested in the content.

Yep. This is the kind of thing Cartman is referring to when he bitches about hippies.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parsons_College

Apparently Parsons closed and they sold the campus to the Maharishi. Craaaazeeee.

Tulip86 02-08-2011 09:01 PM

So they still use the name/symbols letters? Nasty...

AZTheta 02-08-2011 09:02 PM

33, does that mean that that is, in fact a DZ Chapter? huh.

There was, when it was Parsons.

Apparently they had AGD, A Xi D, AOII and SDT as well.

AZTheta 02-08-2011 09:06 PM

And now? is there an active chapter? I'd have guessed otherwise from the website presentation.

Tulip86 02-08-2011 09:09 PM

Not on the DZ website..

AOII Angel 02-08-2011 09:11 PM

Weird. I looks like you "Join" by renting a room in the house.

Xidelt 02-08-2011 11:14 PM

That's weird if that's the old DZ house. Parsons has been closed since 1973. I tend to think somebody at Yoga U. is ripping off a national cause they're too "enlightened" to come up with their own.

yikes....

I guess they do consider themselves members. Click NEW SCI PRINCIPLES on the left nav bar to see how they've bastardized things.

Traditional Principles New SCI Points Most "normal" universities have sororities and fraternities. Delta Zeta sorority has 165 chapters nationwide, and had one at Parsons College in Fairfield until 1973, when the campus was sold to MIU. Maharishi University of Management offers all the features that other universities do, including the various academic disciplines, but adds the Science of Creative Intelligence (SCI) to the curriculum. This integrates the knowledge with knowledge of the self, as experienced during the Transcendental Meditation technique. The Delta Zeta chapter is being re-enlivened with these principles.
and

The Delta Zeta Creed is enlivened and extended through SCI. Through the regular practice of Transcendental Meditation, one feels as if "the world is my family" (Vasu Deva Bhatum Bhkum). As one grows to higher states of consciousness, the qualities grow: temperance, insight, and courage. Meditators seek the truth, and their life touches other lives. The qualities of understanding and appreciation grow along with the use of the full potential of the mind. Delta Zetas who are Sidhas walk in the light of enlightenment.

Uhhhh...WHAT THE FLUCK??

MysticCat 02-09-2011 07:53 PM

Words fail me.

Here's My Favorite

Traditional Principles:
In many sorority chapters, students stay up late to study for exams, or for other activities, getting them tired for classes.

New SCE Points:
Delta Zeta sisters generally go to bed by 10:00 pm, which allows them to wake up refreshed, and ready for their daily routine.

Also love that a key feature of the house is "Brondell Swash 800 high tech heated bidet"

I guess I'll be keeping my eye out for a "re-enlivened" Alpha Xi Delta chapter here, but happy to let Delta Zeta take the lead on this one!!
