Gift Question

Hi guys! Sorry for the lane swerve, but I have a question I was hoping I could get answered here.

During the elections for this spring, my best friend was elected president of her chapter. Her birthday is coming up and to celebrate both her birthday and her being elected president, I wanted to get her something related to Kappa Alpha Theta. I've googled and looked through all sorts of websites trying to find something special for her. However, I haven't had much luck. I was wondering if you lovely ladies know of any awesome websites or stores that might have the perfect present.

I hope you don't mind me asking and I am sorry again for interrupting your forum! =)

IF she doesn't have one, an afphan or blanket with our crest on it is really nice to have... they are available on lots of on line sites. Greek Gear has several nice kinds of blankets:

You can also find intersting things at the Theta Marketplace:

I just finished making a pillow for a new Theta. A tone-on tone 1/8" striped black (home decorater weight) was used for the body of the pillow. The coordinates are a yellow quilting cotton with tiny markings of white and black and a thick white twill (so the black doesn't show from behind).

I appliqued block letters on one side centered left and right but skewed to the top so there is room for a monogram on the bottom. The other side has a flying kite with a tail. The same yellow fabric was used foreground of the letters, the kite, the bows on the tail, and the piping around the perimeter of the pillow. All applique is satin-stitched and the strings for the kite were hand-embroidered. There is a zipper on the bottom so that the insert can be removed if the cover needs to be cleaned.

Usually when I make these pillows, I put the college logo on the reverse side but in this case, the fraternity symbol was used.

If she does not have a guard for her badge, get her one. If she has a guard, get her the Pesidents dangle.

There are so many good websites that have cute gifts. thetaj is a "new" initiate and she's posted some cute jewelry links (pansy charms and the like). Was hoping she'd come around but she's probably busy with school. The Theta website (kappalphatheta.org) has a section full of links to many websites that sell all kinds of Theta merchandise; wide price range.

The embroiderer will be monogramming the initiate's initials in a diamond: the closest we could get to a kite shape.
