How do you handle...
Hello all,
I wanted to know how you handle rude people. I come across them all the time but today's incident had me chuckling. We had an information session on campus about 3 weeks ago and a girl left a message on my machine today and told me she couldn't make it and then said that I had better give her all the information that was given, and that she didn't have time to wait for me, so I had better return her call today. Please tell me how you would handle the situation. |
oh wow...I wish I would even "had better-ed" my momma...
um, since she didn't have the time to *politely* let some member of your sorority know that, although she was interested, she wasn't able to come to the informational, and esp. since she didn't have the time to wait for the information she so rudely requested, you might not have the time to call her rude behind back! How interested is she if she's going to wait 3 weeks after the meeting to request information anyway... However, if you would still like to call this girl, I would calmly set her straight...and if she can't take the heat for her own actions she should stay out of the kitchen:D |
I am considered a very nice person but a rude individual is ONE of my PET PEEVES.... I would ignore her message because if she was interested she would have made time to come to the informational...If she would have called me and asked why I didn't return her call. I would tell her that she is an extremely rude individual who needs to adjust her attitude. If she wants respect then she has to give respect. :D

It is not an obligation of your chapter to go after any members. If she wants to be a Zeta she should get the information on her own or from a friend who is desirous of membership. Membership is a privilege NOT a right. I agree with KiZZie, I would NOT call her back for that purpose.

Maybe this sounds bad, but I would ignore the message. She ignored the business she was supposed to take care of 3 weeks earlier. How dare she demand such of you? I try to stay away from negative things in all aspects of my life, including negative things directed towards my beloved sorority. If this had happened to me, she would be one of those negative things.
    However, in the spirit of Finerwomanhood, perhaps I would speak to her about her attitude and start over. |
Soror, do you have an "Erase" button on your machine? Put it to use!

i agree w/ the prior post, and would also add ensure it is not done in a manner that could me "misconstrued". we can never be too safe now a days the way things are "interpreted". i can only demise that based on some of the "stories" that i have seen posted on greekchat. ;) so keep that finer woman demeanor, say what needs to be said and keep it movin!
