In need of an Army..

Hello to all Orgs reading this.
I swore that I wouldn't blog but this is something that is pressing on my spirit. I am a freshman Nursing student, but not in the conventional sense, as I graduated High School in 2005 and became an LPN in 2010. I returned to school to study for my BSN, and was shocked to find that the sorority that I am interested in is not on my campus, despite it being listed on the school's website. :( The org in question has been in my life for some time and inspired me to apply to universities that were not on my radar. While life has thrown me some devastating curveballs, my passion for this sorority has never wavered. I need help. Some have tried to have the chapter return to our campus, but it has been inactive for some time (think years) and some ladies are getting restless and impatient. Others are diverting to other organizations. What can I do to make my dream a reality? If I must wait until alumnae becomes available I will, but I would LOVE to do undergrad and bring some life and service to my campus. Please give me your thoughts.

Regards,
Focused1

I take it you're interested in an NPHC sorority? If so, you might want to visit their official website to answer your questions.

By the way, a listing on a school's website is by no means accurate. You should always refer to the organization's website to see if it's active or not.

A lane-swerving suggestion: Bring some life and service to your campus now and make yourself all the more valued when you apply for membership with the organization as an alumna.

My money's on DST.

At any rate, definitely visit the official website for solid answers. And by visit, I mean read AND make contact, if necessary.

I 've taken the initiative, as per the official website and I have contacted the Alumnae Chapter about this but I've heard nothing in the last three months. Last thing I was told is that they were working on it.

...and so you wait, patiently. But you also stay on your p's and q's (that's what we older folks say when giving advice, right?) in the meantime.

You've got time. Sororities aren't going anywhere anytime soon. But, still, stay on top of yours. Stay current and social - never know who you'll meet.

I was raised to take heed to the wisdom of elders. :D I will continue to wait and focus on my coursework and social endeavors. My other problem is that there are a group of young ladies who got wind that I was conversing with the Alumnae chapter and they are all looking to me for answers. How can I explain this to them, when some are firm believers of instant gratification?

It is a BGLO, but why DST? Any reason why you immediately assumed that organization?
