UNLV
First of all, hello everyone!
Second, I've been lurking here for some time. I did a bit of research on this subject before I decided to make an account and ask. So if for some reason I missed a thread or something about this, let me know. :] Third, I will be transferring from my current community college to a university in the next year or so (if everything goes according to plan) and I was wondering about the school I'll be transferring to. I am looking to move to go to UNLV, as they have the major I want and I've been wanting for move to LV for some time now. My question is: How competitive is recruitment at UNLV? Like I said earlier in this post, I have looked around on the website and tried to find some sort of answer, to no avail. Also, I won't be a freshman when I go through recruitment at UNLV (if that is where I move), and I know at most schools that is almost an automatic no. Will I even have a shot? Thank you in advance, everyone. :] Btw: UNLV stands for "University of Nevada, Las Vegas". So you don't have to Google if you don't know what it stands for. :] |

Not being a freshman will not automatically disqualify you, just be sure you have the grades and personality to even be considered. |

Oh, and I love your username! :D |
Don't let yourself be frightened by a lot of the stories here. Much of the pre-recruitment advice here is geared toward PNMs attending competitive schools. That doesn't mean you can expect your recruitment to go completely snag free, but it's not going to be an issue if you don't have recs and aren't quadruple legacy to the chapters there. Keep your grades up, look as nice as you can, be polite, fun and enthusiastic.
