Really Uncomfortable Conversation: Dirty Rushing or Rusher Misstep?
.
|
I would guess (from the limited info here) that she wants you to know that it will be okay to join her house even though you don't drink, and is probably looking forward to having other non-drinkers in the house, but perhaps went about expressing this ALL WRONG.
Keep in mind that, as stressful as rush is for you as a PNM, the actives spend maybe four or five times as much time getting ready, and she is probably operating on very little sleep, no food, etc. |
Please try to keep an open mind, and if you are invited to Preference, you'll have a better sense at that time as to whether or not this is a good fit for you.
|
I would be flattered they spent the time to get enough information on me to do this. I would say they are just trying to let you know that you will fit in - albeit not stated in the best way.
|
Don't let one conversation at a really nerve-wracking moment make up your mind. As others said, she might have been trying to show you that you might just fit in. Look at all the pieces of picture and make your decision from that. Good luck!!!

I would only call it "dirty rushing" if she would have gone on about what lushes the ABCs or XYZs were - if she tried to make you uneasy about other groups. |
Awkward, yes - but I think the rusher probably meant well.

Thank you so much for your input and calming my nerves.
