A Brief Hello
I am here to get information.

We are here to mock you as you attempt to get it.

From the "practical" end of the spectrum:
If you put your hand on a hot stove burner, something bad will happen to you. If you leave the house without an umbrella and it is raining, you will get wet. If you do not pay the electric/gas/water bill, the utility company will come and shut off the service. Same for cable/phone. If you don't pay the mortgage/rent/car payments, something worse will happen. If you do not brush and floss daily, eventually you will just drop your teeth in a glass at bedtime. |
I'll tell you what you need to know in exchange for precisely the cost of a two-week trip to Italy for my husband and I. We have relatives so we have places to stay. Airfare and spending money is all we need.

Four flats = Ab Major
Four Sharps = E Major Händel's Hallelujah Chorus is actually in the Easter section of The Messiah and is meant to be sung at Easter, not Christmas. Monteverdi died of syphilis. Haydn wrote The Creation meaning for it to be a timeless classic that would be sung for generations to come. Mission accomplished. Vocal classifications are based on the German concept of fach. When classifying womens' voices, the term for the lowest voice is actually the CONTRalto (counter-high), not alto, which means high. Not all coloraturas are sopranos. |
In order that the conveyor belt remain at constant velocity, the driving tension force must be equal and opposite to the friction force it delivers to the sand.
T = m_dot*v D) W_dot = T*v W = m_dot*v^2*t E) KEi = roughly zero. KE_f = 1/2*m_dot*t*v^2 Thus: deltaKE = 1/2*m_dot*t*v^2 Data: m_dot:=5.10 kg/s; v:=0.600 m/s; t:=1 sec; Results: A) p_dot = 3.06 Newtons, rightward B) F = 3.06 Newtons, rightward C) T = 3.06 Newtons, rightward D) W = 1.836 Joules E) deltaKE = 0.918 Joules F) Because the sand and the conveyor belt have an inelastic collision based on kinetic friction. This is dissipating heat. |
This, so far, is the most informative thread on GreekChat.
EXCEPT for the one where we give out incorrect information. |
The largest of the woodpeckers north of Mexico and the third largest in the world, the Ivory-billed Woodpecker was a bird of old-growth forests of the Southeast. Destruction of its forest habitat caused severe population declines in the 1800s, and only a handful of birds remained into the 20th century. It was thought to have gone extinct in the middle of the twentieth century. The bird was rediscovered in the "Big Woods" region of eastern Arkansas in 2005, but has proven difficult to relocate since then.

Ode to Joy was written in 1785 by German poet Freidrich Schiller. Beethoven set the piece, with revisions, to music as the fourth and last movement of Symphony Number 9 in D minor, which was completed in 1824. It is said that Beethoven was completely deaf from an inner ear lesion by 1816. Therefore, he never “heard” the final version of his work. He felt the vibrations.

How to Survive an Alligator Attack

To tie the Windsor Knot, select a necktie of your choice and stand in front of a mirror.
1) Start with the wide end ("W") of your necktie on the right, extending about 12 inches below the narrow end ("N") on the left. 2) Then cross the wide end over the narrow end. 3) Bring the wide end up through the loop between the collar and your tie. 4) Then bring the wide end back down. 5) Pull the wide end underneath the narrow end and to the right, back through the loop and to the right again so that the wide end is inside out. 6) Bring the wide end across the front from right to left. 7) Then pull the wide end up through the loop again. 8) Bring the wide end down through the knot in front. 9) And -- using both hands -- tighten the knot carefully and draw it up to the collar. |
