Just wondering after talking to a friend about his orgs house. Does every org that has a house make their members live there or is it optional?

Depends on the organization and the chapter usually.

They have to have some mechanism to ensure that the house is full enough to pay the bills.

It depends on the size of the chapter and the climate of the town the chapter is looking to build/buy a house. Some areas near schools have 'villages' of several Greek houses, others do not want chapters to have houses.

Realize that when you put a qualifier like "EVERY" the answer usually tends to be "NO". It depends. Why do you ask?
