Does anyone other than me, like Blues music? :) I like Jimi Hendrix Blues the best. I like Stevie Ray Vaughan, too. I like a lot of Blues artists, but Jimi and Stevie are my favorites.

I love you Jimi! :p:cool:

Oh, and there's like a million versions of "Hear my Train comin'", but this by far is the best one. Jimi, freaking ROCKS!

CG I love you for starting this thread. I love the blues with a passion. Buddy Guy is incredible (I SAW HIM LIVE!!!!!! :D :D :D), but then again are the Three Kings, EC, Muddy Waters etc. 2 really good ones that aren't well known are Robert Cray http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2gQEDwjhaDE and Susan Tedeschi. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jDPNCMD89gk

ETA: Gold star if you can name the 3 Kings without using Google. Also considering the title of this thread, Damn Right I've Got the Blues

Vito, you deserve all the credit for this thread. When you posted in "this or that", "BB King" that's what gave me the idea. I'll have to go back and change the OP, I wouldn't feel right without giving you credit.:p

And yes, I love the blues, too.

You and I have the blues bad.:(:p

I wish I could. I'm so much of a Hendrix fan, that I would have to google the others. I started this thread, because I wanted to hear others I haven't heard before. So far so good.:)

btw: who are they? I know BB King is one.

The 3 Kings of the Blues are BB, Albert and Freddie. Albert King actually was the person who first recorded and made famous Born Under a bad Sign. It was also covered very well by Cream.

My God, both versions are awesome, but Albert King's tops them all. And I thought Jimi was good, but Albert King is better. I can't remember who Jimi was influenced by. I think it was BB King, but I'm not sure. I've never been to a blues concert, but I would love to go.

Psi U MC Vito 11-18-2010 01:29 AM

Well he was influenced by a lot of people, but the 2 biggest were BB and Muddy Waters.

That's it! Yep! Muddy Waters! I remember reading about him and how he was Jimi's influence. Wow, you really know your history.:)

Stevie Ray Vaughn and Chris Thomas King.

MysticCat 11-18-2010 09:53 AM

Co-sign on lots of these, including BB King, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Muddy Waters and Miles Davis.

But how has this thread gone for 14 posts without any mention of Etta James ?? !!
