And here I thought Oregon is the Beaver State.

You are failing at lame spam.

I just crack up every time I see a listing for the show "Beavers All Access." I wonder how many 13 year old boys turn it on for the first time and are super disappointed.

"The Sun State" - what a ridiculous nickname that would be for Oregon. I joke - but it's really not a joke - that it is ALWAYS raining when I drive through central-southern Oregon. Once I pass Salem it turns into a downpour, and usually keeps up until Roseburg or so.

Hey now. I'm the first to laugh at all those poor Californians who have a panic attack over a few sprinkles. And it really doesn't rain that much here. But "the sun state"? Dear lord. I love Oregon and I love those stickers. But if you're going to spam about my state can you make us sound a little less lame please?

I think the east side of the Cascades could be sunnier, but it is fugly there and really just high desert. Eastern Oregon makes me sad to drive through, and sick because of juniper and sage brush allergies. The wind mills on I-84 are an improvement on the landscape until one passes through The Dalles heading west. I'm also mad about The Dalles Dam messing up Celilo Falls because it ruined fishing for the Celilo people, just like The Grand Coulee Dam did to Lake Roosevelt and effed over the Colville and other tribes with their fishing. There are still Ceremonies of Tears for the loss of ancestral fishing and I'd prefer to have wind power and conserve energy than perpetuate the destruction of people for energy.

Speaking of Beavers, I still think the vegan strip club in Portland should have the tag line "Oregon's Cruelty Free Beaver" and someone needs to open liquor stores with me so we can name them "Beaver Liquor" first store should be in Corvallis.
