Citations on Suspicion of Stealing (Sigma Nu, U of Colorado Scavenger Hunt)
Six men have been cited by police for allegedly stealing various items on a scavenger hunt. See:
http://www.coloradodaily.com/cu-boul...#axzz151OoaYTS Excerpts: One member of Boulder's Sigma Nu fraternity and five pledges were ticketed early this morning on suspicion of stealing hood ornaments, street signs and other . . . items as part of a scavenger hunt. . . . Officers found Cadillac and Jaguar hood ornaments in the men's possession along with a black CU flag and a volleyball net from the Kappa Sigma fraternity, according to a police report. A torn-up list for the hunt that officers obtained ordered the pledges to take a Mercedes hood ornament as well and to defecate in and on certain things, which were not named . . . . Sigma Nu's president in Boulder could not immediately be reached for comment. Greek advocate Marc Stine said the Interfraternity Council has launched an investigation into the scavenger hunt allegations . . . . |

The web site of Sigma Nu's inter/national HQ explicitly mentions scavenger hunts. See:
http://www.sigmanu.org/programs/anti-hazing/index.php I don't know whether the men allegedly involved in the incident in Boulder knew about Sigma Nu's position. |
And this is (one of) the reason(s) that scavenger hunts are forbidden. This chapter is (allegedly) to blame (in part) for why the rest of us can't have scavenger hunts.
So next time, instead of whining about HQs putting rules on us, how about we yell at these (alleged) sort and tell them to stop (allegedly) screwing things up for the rest of us. |

So scavenger hunt orders or not, swiping that stuff doesn't win friends in the real world. |
