Sid, it's more than messed up. |
Don't listen to these people. Of course you can transfer and join another national fraternity. In fact, I recommend transferring EVERY semester and joining a new national fraternity. Just think of how awesome your fresh-out-of-college resumè would look with all those great schools and orgs listed. And you'd only be paying back student loans for the rest of your life. Go for it!

Why is this question asked (what feels like) every day?
Nothing like a little loyalty to your organization. |
Your national's (punctuation provided by moi) rules are bunk?
Just what kind of rules are you breaking? And you think others' nationals will lack such pesky rules? |
Once you're initiated, you're on the national roster. Unless your organization releases you of membership, any other NIC organization you join will not be official. You'd never be a real brother of whichever group you tried to join. Aren't your fraternity brothers your Facebook friends? Don't you think they'd notice you in pledge class pictures or suddenly people call you pledge or "Congrats on pledging XYZ" on your wall?
Also, you'd be a junior at the very least. Why the hell would you want to go through pledging twice? Especially the second time as a junior. You'd probably fit in less with your pledge class. |
