New Chapter
Hi everyone!
I'm new to greek life on my Canadian campus, I'm not too sure how the whole thing operates, but I hope to soon. Our sorority is small, I believe were in our third or forth chapter. We're a group of 10 or more girls, and we're the only sorority on campus. The Fraternity has there own house, and they're about the same size as us. We're hoping to get more pledges in the Spring Rush period. We're looking for ideas for how to make the sorority image more better on campus. To me the greek life is definitely cool, we have a great group of girls, but maybe in their earlier chapters they didn't have a good image. Our school is small (8000 students). How can we image ourselves so that the sorority grows in a positively in the future? |
Are you a local or regional/national? If it's the latter, I suggest asking your HQ for ideas.
Otherwise, if you're a local, start by emphasizing all the good stuff that you do. For example, what do you do, what are your goals, etc.? Why do you think you have a great group of girls? |

Without being on your campus or knowing your members personally, it's hard for us to say what will and will not work for you. Lastly, there is a website called Phiredup.com as well as a book titled "I Heart Recruitment" that have helped many chapters grow and thrive. The bottom line is that people join people. Making friends is the first step. The more people who know about you, the more people might be interested in you (or know others who might be interested). Good luck. |
