You know you're an AOII when...
I saw this on several of the other organizations' forums, but couldn't find one for AOII. I think it's always fun to talk about those little everyday things that remind us of AOII and why we love it so!
You know you're an AOII when... -You decorate every room in your house with at least a little red...most often black white and red. -You get insanely excited anytime you meet someone named Stella. -You know that pandas have no natural enemies. -You think the top things to do in New York are visit the Statue of Liberty, go see a Broadway play, and oh yeah go wandering around Barnard. Isn't that what everyone does? -You know what a sheaf is. I know I'll think of so many more! |
You know when you're an AOII when...
...you realize driving through Tennessee means a stop in Brentwood, even though its totally out of the way of your roadtrip!
|
*You find yourself checking any stuffed animal that is black and white to see if it's a Panda.
*You notice sheafs of wheat in other people's Thanksgiving decor and always complement them. *You get psyched out by KDs "AOT" and think it might say "AOII!" Ha! We had KD on our campus and would double take all the time! *You love the PIPs and you don't mean Gladys Knight! |

You know you're an AOII mother when your daughters graduate from college and leave their pandas, too massive for apartments, in your house.
No lie, one is so big that I can sit in his lap. |

My giant panda was a family tradition that got passed on. I still miss having it around even though I never quite had room for it haha
OMG yes to the AOT thing! I get so disappointed when I realize that's an AOT on that stranger's shirt, not AOII. Oh and who doesn't love the PIPs?! I'm pretty sure everyone thinks I'm talking about Gladys Knight and her posse whenever I mention the PIPs...if only they knew that our PIPs are so much better! |

you know you're an AOII when you constantly doodle roses on your notes during class! :)
|
I do a "fly-by" of the card aisle whenever I go to the store, looking for panda cards. They're easy to spot, even on the run!

you can perfect pronounce jacqueminot with out ever taking a french class.
you rarely just say "red" it usually "cardinal". when shopping for jewelry you have a tough decision between rubies and pearls. you smile when ever you see anything unintentionally related to ritual. you have a weird fondness of Betsy Johnson because of her panda and rose jewelry. you have mastered drawling the cutest panda ever on your school notes. you have "1897" as your iphone lock code. you use "roses" as good-bye line. I love this thread! These are the one I could think of off the top of my head<3 |

If you're from my chapter, you pop the thorns off red roses when you buy them. (We always said our rose had no thorns. ;) )
You check eBay looking for badges for sale. You had to wipe away tears when girls you've never met at Columbia University pinned on little rose pins last month. You have a pair of red heels just because. |

I also dream of different combinations of rubies and pearls. Then again, one of the things I love about our badge is how simple and meaningful it is, whether or not there are extra jewels involved. Basically, I am unashamed of my badge obsession! ;) |
