Attention Presidents!
 

Hi! I'm currently a junior in my 2nd full year with Alpha Xi, and our officer elections are coming up. I would like to run for President, but I'm not sure of all of the responsibilities involved and want to be sure I would be the best choice for my chapter before trying to convince anyone else of it. If you have served as your chapter's President, or if you know a lot about the duties of the President, if you could help me out by just describing them and/or listing the characteristics of a person that would be a good choice for President. Your best bet is to talk to the President. She will be in the best position to explain what she does in your specific chapter. It will vary greatly based on the size of the chapter, if you have a house, how involved you are on campus, how smooth vs struggle your chapter is currently in, etc.

Besides, unless the election process has changed dramatically, you're not supposed to openly campaign anyway. You should express interest to the person who can help you the most.

I personally think the most important thing the president does is delegate. And keep the membership motivated and cohesive.
