Help regarding a possible colonization

I recently started a new sorority at my school. Its been quite successful for its first year and our very first rush is about to come to an end. We've recently been invited to colonize with another sorority. They have a lot of things in common with us. However our vp strongly believes that we should wait a year before decide to colonize but I feel quite the opposite. I believe that we should make a decision before rush ends(btw I'm for colonizing). Help what should we do I'm so confused. Any ideas would be helpful.

Edited because I just read your other posts. What you are referring to is a merger, not a colonization. "Colonization" really only refers to a national sorority starting a new chapter at a campus from scratch or to a national sorority inviting a local sorority to become a chapter of their organization. Your campus is not open for NPC expansion. Unless a non-NPC national sorority has contacted you, there is not a "possible colonization" in the works.

It all depends why the sorority was founded to begin with. If it was to be an additional option among the sororities currently on campus and build something new, it would be rather silly for the sorority to to give all that up after only one rush, especially if it did well. If you don't want to be a part of that and would rather be in the other group, perhaps you should resign.

Please clarify what you really mean. I'm not willing to do the background work 33 is, but if she's right and you mean a merger, not a colonization, I'm confused as to why you would have even started the local if you all you end up with is having done this other group's recruiting for them for free.
