Has "Mad Men" Jumped The Shark
I think so. I thought it was more interesting when the progran was set in the early 1960s as opposed to the mid-1960s. I must admit that I was born in the late 1950s and remember my parents having those clothes, those furnishings etc.
Anyone care to discuss "Mad Men" |
Mmm, I don't think so. There have been a lot of changes this season, which was off-putting to me at first, but I think they had to do something big (like SCDP) to keep it fresh. It's definitely a different show than it was in the first season.
I'm pretty happy with how things are going now and I don't feel like my interest is waning. I do think tonight's episode was very necessary, though - they needed to get the plot moving along. To me, it seems the last few episodes before tonight's have been more focused on making statements about the social/political climate of the time period than developing the plotlines. It was interesting stuff (especially since I wasn't alive to witness it!) but it felt a little bit like stalling. All the action in tonight's episode should make for an interesting rest of the season. I'm still wondering about Joan... did she or didn't she? I think she didn't. I AM glad you made a thread to discuss Mad Men, though! :) |
I, too, suspect that Joan didn't...It seems that Don's past is finally catching up with him, and really, it is about time.
