NPC women - Do you wear "your colors" often?
I know that the ladies of several (if not all) of the Divine Nine sororities have threads here about clothing and accessories in their colors. I believe that I have seen some threads and discussions and have seen Latina/MC/Service sororities doing the same, but was wondering if there are a lot of NPC women who commonly wear their sorority colors on purpose.
I know that a lot of women include their color(s) into their wedding somehow, but as alumnae, living "every day life", do you go out of your way to wear your colors? Did the colors creep into your consciousness so that you actually have a lot of garments in one or more of your colors? |
I'm trained to notice red-buff-green now because it was so hard to find items that incorporated all three colors, but I don't exactly wear clothing with all three colors. It would be rare to find a piece that incorporated all three colors and didn't make you look like a clown. I do have a few casual bracelets with colors that I wear occasionally.

I have always loved turquoise, ever since I was a kid! So my wardrobe does have a lot of turquoise and not just because of ZTA. Although I do try to wear it on chapter days!

I will say all of my jerseys are red-buff-green. I never had one that wasn't in our colors. I forgot which company I got my favorite one from but they have a fabric with red yellow and green jerry-bears. It's my favorite jersey ever. |
I have always gravitated toward maroon and I love lavender but it washes me out.
I do tend to pick out flowers in both shades - in fact, I picked out a bunch at Trader Joe's yesterday and realized when I got them home that they'd look great at a Pref Party. :) |
I'll wear one color at a time, but that's because I look fabulous in red, yellow, or green. I don't wear buff (as you can guess, washes me right out and is hard to find a true buff color!).

H&M is selling Squirrel-pendant necklaces, and they are supercute! And 4$, your friend might just love that. http://i1034.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1282581102 (Owls seem to be very fashionable this season as well ;) ) /end hijack |

Thank God brown (and pink) have come into style. I love brown, and it's my new favorite neutral.

Since plaid and florals are both making a comeback, I've have noticed different sororities' color combinations in stores, both in the summer (pastels) and fall/winter. What's so great about the plaid is that you'll often find a rarer combination thanks the "crossing" of colors.
For you squirrels, I know for sure that I've seen non-Christmassy red/green plaid flannel shirts (if you're into that) in the past few weeks. I'll keep my eye out, and you SK girls, I definitely saw a plaid that had pretty close to your colors. You sometimes have to look in the men's department, but a size small fits me perfectly (perfect for layering). Seriously, check out JC Penny's men's section. Note that I am a New England girl, and flannel kind of never went out of style. I'm just so happy that plaid is back!! Quote:
I also love brown as a neutral. It looks much better near my face than black does, and I think looks great with neutrals, brights, and pastels. Black can be too striking against brights, and it reminds me of the color-block style of the early 90s. *Shudder* |
Im quite the opposite actually! Im not fond of red at all....actually I wear alot of black, grey, purple and navy lol
|
I wear a lot of different color combinations. My favorite is light blue and dark blue. It is more KKG but wearing yellow can be a little much sometimes. I also like to wear pink and green or purple and green (more SAE than sorority) I've done brown with green but no red. I just like colors. Although I only started to wear pink after I joined AXiD because of our flower.

I definitely wear a lot of red, yellow/gold and greens. Good that I am a "fall" person. Those are also my house decorating colors.
Even got hubby on squirrel lookouts, lol.;) |
