I'm not that great at catching the crap here, but this one is chock full of what?
1-you don't pref if you have a penis 2-you don't pref after you pledge, but before 3-if you are serious in your question, I am afraid your chain is being yanked .....3a-do you have a pledge pin yet? you're being hazed .....3b-if you don't have your pledge pin yet, you're not a pledge .....3c-if you have your pledge pin already, you should have already had the terms of your new member period explained to you 4-if you're trying to be be funny on here, you're not. 5-nobody is going to answer the details of membership in a sorority or fraternity |
Actually, a decent number of schools have a more formal night at the end of the Rush Period, before bid day, that is sometimes called Preference Night. Typically you get dressed up, have dinner, etc. Depending on the structure of rush, going to this one house either shows your preference for that chapter over the others you've been rushing, or in more formal structured recruitment setting (where invitations may be handed out throughout the week) it is simply the last night of Rush before Bid Day. I don't know if that is what the OP is talking about, but a fraternity "pref" isn't really that unusual.
Regarding being weeded out after receiving a bid, in most cases you can be. |

As far as pledging and having a pledge pin, I assumed that when he said he "just pledged" he meant he just accepted a bid somewhere that rush is structured along the lines of what Gusteau described. |

It varies by organization, but by being offered a bid the fraternity THINKS you are what they want. At any time in the pledge process you can be removed from the pledge process, and thus the fraternity. This is not rare and does happen.
The pledge process is for you to show why you're the right fit for the group. Rush is for them to show you why they're the right fit. |
You guys chill its a Preference night !!! It's a chill out session with the brothers of a fraternity just to have a good time.
What can you expect? Guys wanting to have a good time. Just be yourself, and don't be so nervous. And if your really nervous and can't shake it.. then just try to use it as excitement and be stoked !!! It'll work wonders for your evening. |
k_s...gettcha boy.
