I have family that live in St. Croix. Earlier today my grandmother said that the weather was pretty bad.

Same here. I have family in St. Croix, St. Thomas, and Dominica. They're getting hit pretty bad right now.

I hear you knight shadow. I'm a bit worried. A storm was bound to happen, it has been too quiet in the tropics lately. I just hope no lives are lost.

The northeast Caribbean is getting pretty badly hit, from what I understand.

The current forecast has the storm affecting, but not actually barreling into, the East Coast from North Carolina on up. We'll probably get some wind and rain.

Of course, now that I've posted that, the storm will turn and barrel directly into NYC.....!

It's totally going to make the beaches here too rough this week. :(

Miriverite 08-31-2010 01:07 AM

I'm in Massachusetts, so I'll probably get the tail end of it - nothing too drastic.

We'll still try to enjoy our labor day. ;)

Man, I'm loving your family! I love all those places, and would tolerate the occasional hurricane to live the lifestyle. I especially loved Dominica, but St. Thomas is probably the most livable. Lane swerving here a bit, do you know how living on Grand Cayman is? When we're ready to head back to the Western Hemisphere, there is a slight opportunity there.

I hope everyone's families come through the weather unscathed. Good luck!

At the moment, it looks like it will come close enough to rain out the Red Sox game. There goes $200 and my husband's birthday present!!

There's a possibility of all the students living on campus to be evacuated here. Everyone is keeping an eye on it, and I'm really hoping we won't be evacuated. We'll probably know by tomorrow evening.

I'm glad to say that my grandma and other family and friends on St. Croix are okay. :)

I'm with you on that AKA_Monet, let them be safe!

Sending some Arizona dryness your way in exchange for an inch or so of the rain. Maybe that will work? Seriously, please be safe and I am hoping that it isn't as severe as projected.

Me too. We're headed to the beach (NC) this weekend.
