Soliciting recs from GC is a no-no.

They're important. Many many girls will have them and you want to give yourself every advantage possible.

Depends on the school, although, a recommendation usually gets you a courtesy invite back to the second round.

This is not always the case, particularly when every girl has one.

If (for example) 90% of PNMs have recs, they all aren't going to get rec-related courtesies.
