Speeds
 

We just got a new go-cart place here called Speeds. Does anyone have this where they live? It's an INDOOR racetrack, and supposedly, the go-carts go faster than the outdoor ones, like 40 mph or something like that. But get this. It's $17.50 for the first go round, which is 8 mins, then it gets cheaper after that, down to $10 after your 4th time. I was like, um, that's a little pricey.

Anyway, I want to know if yall have them where you live, so I can see if it's even worth the gas out there.

We don't have it in Chicago. I usually spare no cost when it comes to entertainment and travel, but even that's outrageous to me. I wouldn't go. Spend a few hours there, and you paid your car note for the month!

Girl, ok, lemme give you the whole rundown, lol, so you can see just how outrageous it is. Last night I was too tired, lol.

Ok, each race is 8 minutes. Your first race is $17.50. Your 2nd is $15.00, your 3rd is $12.50, and 4 or more is $10.00 each. Now what I didn't ask was did your rides carry over. I mean, if I ride 2ce today, when I come back next time, do I start with my 3rd ride, or do I start all over? All I know is I hung up the phone, looked at my boyfriend and just shook my head. If we went and just rode 2ce (that's my abbr. for twice, lol) each, that would be $70 right there. :eek: Not including drinks and food. I was like, man, I'ma hafta pass for now. :( And I'm :mad:, because the commercials make it look so fun.

I'm sure it is fun....but under normal circumstances I can't see $70 for 2 people for 2 races, lasting only 16 minutes. If it's income tax time and I'm getting back $3000.00, bills paid, savings put away, and I'm feeling really frivolous, maybe. LOL.
