Say A Little Prayer Please
 

Ladies,
Tonite was my chapter's Initiation. It went off without any huge flaws but I'm writing this to ask you all to say a little prayer to your god for my chapter. We have a whole lot of tension right now. One new member quit 3 hrs before the ceremony, her big did not come, and three other sisters chose not to come for reasons that may or may not be related to that issue, I don't really know.
I'm feeling very upset right now just because I know our 17 new sisters have just joined and now they are seeing a negative side to sisterhood and not the good things you and I have all enjoyed. 18 Seniors graduated last May and this semester many of the new girls felt like just a number and it was hard for some sisters to extend friendships to them because of normal college stresses and because numbers were stressed so much. I was so happy that we mad our "quota" and tried SO hard to make everyone feel welcome I just feel like because of all this drama, things have been spoiled.
On top of all this....there are about 5 deaths or serious illnesses happening to the families of some of our sisters so ontop of Zeta stress we all are feeling outside pulls. To make a very long post shorter...please pray, keep us in your thoughts. Please PM me or AIM (sn is in my profile) if you have any advice about keeping/improving our sisterhood. We're a small chapter (40) and it means a great deal to us.

I am so sorry this is happening to you! It absolutely killed me to think of how hard this must be for you and your chapter. You will definitely be in our prayers... Our chapter is rather large (160) but we work hard to really bind together in tough times. We always send flowers to sister's families when there is an illness or a death, and we try to spend as much time together as possible at times like these, particularly in our Bible study sessions or in sisterhood activities. Just remember that what makes you sisters is what can help get you through this - you joined ZTA to be friends through good times and bad, and I know your chapter can make it through this! Rallying around your sisters can only make you closer and stronger. I'll PM you with some sisterhood ideas, but please know we're thinking of you!!

Maybe you can contact your Province Pres. and get some ideas from her or make arrangements for a TLC to come in and run some sisterhood-building workshops and stuff.

I forget - where is you chapter?

Also - has anyone followed up with the new member that left before initiation?
