Real fast pref night dress help
|
The link just takes you to the homepage, but I'm guessing something from Target will probably be too casual.
|
Yeah, the link isn't working... but I'll agree with Lady Pi. Unless your school has a really laid back recruitment, Target isn't the best option.
|
Hm. Dunno why the link isn't working. ]:
But yeah, you are probably right. Never mind. :] |

But the link worked for me and no it is not dressy enough. If you're shooting for Target, look for a dress with a black tag (instead of a pink or red one) - these are from the Misses line and are a little longer/more covered/more appropriate for preference night. I don't think the monthly line is dressy clothes this quarter. Try everything at Target on - sometimes the fit is wrong or it'll be waaaaay short. /end I worked at Target for far too long |
Some places where you might be able to find a dress that is fancy enough for the same price range are: Forever21, TJMaxx, Marshalls, and Ross. You can also check out sales that department stores are having because they might still be unloading summer dresses for cheap. (Though be certain of their return policy on sale items when you buy, in case you think you'll change your mind.) All the stores I listed can be hit and miss, hence the "might". Worth looking, though!

Personally, I think almost everything at Forever 21 is too short. Please be sure to try anything you are considering from there on.

Online they're titled Mossimo Black and Merona. |
The price tag... they're color coordinated to tell you which department the item is from

Right. Red or Pink tags means it's from the Junior's section. I would avoid the Junior's section or clothes that come in odd sizes (3, 5, 7, 9) because it's likely not appropriate.
I'd also avoid stores that sell everything in odd sizes. At Target, the misses section clothes have black or gray tags (the price tags on merona clothes are gray, I think, but the tag that has the size in the back are black or white) and are in even sizes (0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 22). "Misses" dresses are usually a little longer (remember - it's best to try it on first) and a little more appropriate for this type of situation. I was looking at the website - the formatting is all off for some reason. That could be why no one saw it before (for me there was a big white space then if you scrolled down the item was at the bottom). I did see some dresses online though that did look like they could be appropriate. Please avoid the gold lame' dress that's up though, thanks. |
