As far as I can remember, any convention where there was at least a semi-organized effort to create a program of emphasis, it passed. Has anyone seen either a convention with two (semi-) organized efforts for a program of emphasis or one where an organized effort failed?

One point is that this program of emphasis would, to some degree, repeat a previous one. 1993 was AIDS/HIV Disease Education & Awareness. 1994 was Chemical Dependency & Eating Disorder Awareness , I'm not sure how they expressed the common theme between them.

However, I think that it has been long enough (most of the delegates to the convention won't remember anything about 1993, much less the program of emphasis).

Complete list of the NSW themes is at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alpha_P...l_Service_Week

Thanks for the info, bro!

those 2 NSWs would be part of the 1993-94 Program of Emphasis, which was Health Education and Awareness.

I have a list of all the PoE and NSD/NSW themes.

Is there any reason not to use the information at
http://www.apo.org/site/site_files/NSW_History.pdf
?

We may want to alter the list on Wikipedia so that the POE's can be listed as well. Something like

* Health Education and Awareness (1993-1994)
**AIDS/HIV Disease Education & Awareness (1993)
**Chemical Dependency & Eating Disorder Awareness (1994)

or table-ize it so it looks like
Years Program of Emphasis NSD/NSW theme Year
1993-1994 Health... AIDS/HIV Disea... 1993
.............................................. Chem Depend... 1994

With the ... text actually filled in. (Assume it looks better than it shows up on Wikipedia)

Yup, As I said, it's in
http://www.apo.org/site/site_files/NSW_History.pdf
:)

Do you have any suggestions on format for Wikipedia when the PoE gets added? I can add the information, I'd just like to pick a format before I start...

Does the fact that very few people have commented on the proposed legislation (on facebook) mean that it's fine the way it is? Or that everyone is now plotting against me? LOL jk

It generally means that 90% of the brothers expect the idea for the PoE to come from *somewhere else* and don't even think about it in time to get legislation in...

Definitely think you're right. I spoke to a seasoned staff member yesterday who felt the same way.

More seasoned than I? I'm so seasoned they put me on Tabasco sauce to kick up the flavor. :)

LMAO..... no, not as seasoned as you.

As far as I can tell, there are only four people in the DC area who have been on staff longer than I have for some definition of staff. :)
