joining NPC
I was browsing through the up & coming national GLO forum and I thought of some questions.
1. Can and will NPC allow anymore chapters to join NPC? 2. If they do, how many chapters does the sorority need to have nationally to join? 3. What are the benefits/disadvantages of them joining NPC? 4. Do the chapters that are national generally want to join NPC or do they want to stay non-NPC? It seems that some of these chapters that are considered national but not NPC are governed by NPC at their respective schools. An example would be Theta Nu Xi, on the U of A website they are listed under Panhellenic chapters at the school. Thanks |
Chapters don't join NPC - organizations with chapters join.

It's pretty obvious by the context what she means for heaven's sake.
ASU, the NPHC's bylaws are public and the membership criteria is as well, so I was somewhat surprised when I didn't find the same information on the NPC website. Maybe I wasn't looking hard enough. |
Aren't all of the unanimous agreements for the NPC in the "green book"? I think you have to purchase that. I don't think that info is on the website. It's quite a bit of information.

Does the NPC have unanimous agreements instead of bylaws?

I distinctly remember reading on here that organizations petitioning to join the NPC have to have at least thirteen collegiate chapters, the youngest of which must be a certain number of years old.
Since you mentioned us... It is extremely unlikely that Theta Nu Xi would join the NPC. While we're a social sorority, we do not share many characteristics with NPC sororities. Our chapters are generally part of Multicultural Greek Councils and are only ever associate members of local Panhellenic Councils on a temporary basis in order to be recognized by Greek Life. We do have a lot of love for the NPC! If not for the work (and regulations) of its member organizations, it's unlikely that Theta Nu Xi would have had an opportunity to establish chapters at schools where no MGC exists. |
No they have bylaws, I don't have time this morning, but I found this in an old GC post:

And since you're not, when I say "bird" I don't mean a literal bird, because clearly birds can't type and join sororities. See what I did there? |
