Question about Recs

I sent an e-mail to my local Panhellenic Association, I'm from St. Louis, and have not been reached yet. I would not be worried, except for the fact this e-mail was sent weeks ago and I'm going to a fairly competitive college where recommendations are almost necessary. The only way to contact them, that I saw, was through e-mail... otherwise I would call.

In this case, what should I do? I need recommendation letters for a few sororities and want to have them soon... so it is not a last minute race to collect them. Is there any way someone would care to help? Or have any connections I could get a hold of? Or know somewhere else or someone I can ask for recommendation letters?

Thanks. :)

Have you exhausted these sources:

-your parents' friends (mom's AND dad's)
-your former teachers
-friends of siblings and other relatives
-former coworkers
-neighbors

Even if you've asked these people and they aren't in the sorority you need the rec for, they may know people who are.

People on GC may be able to put you in touch with someone you can contact (i.e. another way to reach the alum panhellenic) but in general, it is not wise to solicit recs from GC members unless they are in your hometown and consent to meet with you personally.

The alumnae Panhellenic in St. Louis also has a mailing address and a facebook page. Both could be alternate methods of contacting them as well.

Otherwise, what 33girl said.
