Battle of the Michaels: Before Thriller or After Thriller

Beat it or Bad?

Don't Stop til You get Enough or Butterfly?

Walk Right Now or Remember the Time?

GC...which Michael did you like????

Everything up to and including the Thriller album. The Bad album was decent but then the sleepovers started...

Seriously, Thriller is like the greatest album every. Damn near every song was a chart topper individually.

God I miss albums like this...*goes to listen to Off the Wall and Thriller*

I love everything MJ does. I love everything the Jackson 5 did and I think they made their Osmond mentors proud. Sorry, I'm feeling nostalgic right now. :(

I will say that some of my least favorite MJ songs came when he was married to Lisa Marie Presley ("Earth Song," "Scream," etc.). The songs weren't horrible they just aren't the best of MJ.

ThetaPrincess24 06-24-2010 11:53 AM

I would agree with the Lisa Marie comment.

I dont remember much from "Off the Wall" other than what I have heard has a more disco feel to it and I am not a fan of disco.

I do remember quite fondly "Thriller" and "Bad." I liked them both along with several songs from "Dangerous." After that, I lost interest because that is when the "MJ is a pervert" rumors/lawsuits started coming around.

I remember when the "Thriller" video on MTV came out and I was scared to death to watch it. I think I was in 7th grade before I made myself watch it and then wondered why the hell I waited that long to see it lol!

MJ is the artist who really created the video world premiers. :D People of all ages would wait for his world premiers. I remember his premiers after In Living Color that my parents allowed us to stay up late for and record. :)

:( Ohhhh, MJ...

Michael is Michael. I like all of his music, but I like Thriller the best. I miss him so much.:(
There should be a new national holiday, called MJ Day.:)

Ok, I'm ready to get injured for this but...

I don't really care for Michael Jackson. I get all the stuff that he did that was groundbreaking for the music industry and for being a black man in the music industry, but.... I'm really eh about the music.

I mean, there are a few Jackson 5 songs I bounce along to (didn't even know they were Jackson 5 at first) and I know Triller, Billie Jean, etc. But... I don't "get" it.

There. I've said it and I can't take it back!

For me, he's been a constant in my life and his music has been the soundtrack to several life events. Granted, some of his songs and lyrics are like WTF? (I still don't know what chum-on means or where that shit came from), but he was a fun artist and made me excited about music.

I guess it's the same way people feel about Elvis or the Beatles (neither of which I particularly care for, but I "get it").

Maybe that's a better way of saying it, I "get" it intellectually but the music does nothing for me.

I'm just not much of a music person. Which is weird because I love to sing, but I've never really bought music, followed the industry, etc.
