Sisterhood
 

I am trying to come up with ideas for a sisterhood bonding event (day or overnight). We are not allowed to have houses at my school, and I think it hinders our sisterhood a bit. We have separate little clicks, which is normal and there aren't any hard feelings, but I am really trying to think of an event that can bring everyone closer and remind us of the reason we are in this chapter. There are about 60 girls in the chapter, so not everyone will be the best of friends, but I am looking for them to get out of this a refreshed feeling of sisterhood and an appreciation for everyone of our sisters.

Any suggestions further than just icebreakers?

Sisterhood retreats are win, they can be daylong or overnight, silly or serious or both. We did a daylong one at the zoo, rented a conference room for various activities and had time to wander around the zoo together.

We did an overnight one at a retreat center that gave us a central room where we could do ritual and separate "cabins" for sleeping. Some of the activities were icebreaker sorts, some were more serious and oriented around reflecting on what our sorority meant to us and how we practiced the values of our ritual.

You might try looking up "retreat activities" or contacting an adviser for some help as well. I'm only recalling the overall gist of my retreats, not the specific activities.

If you can pull it off, i recommend making it a regular once a semester thing. It's worth it.

ETA: I wouldn't blame your lack of housing for anything. That's just how it goes with a group sometimes and even housed chapters have cliques.

Ideas
 

We have sisterhood events all throughout the semester, that don't involve overnight stay (liabilities and such). Some of them can be getting together to watch Grey's Anatomy, or having a Mani/Pedicure night. We also have events to make posters to support our girls during greek week and homecoming.

As for one main event, I think a Spa Party would be a neat way to have the girls interact, by doing each other's nails and hair. Everyone could bring a fav color and borrow each others. I can't think of any other trust building activity than having one of my sisters color my hair!

Try having a progressive dinner at everyone's different houses/apartments.
