Human Heads Confiscated On Plane Bound For Texas
Weird. http://www.click2houston.com/news/23924877/detail.html
POSTED: Wednesday, June 16, 2010 UPDATED: 4:42 pm CDT June 16, 2010 LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- An official with the Federal Aviation Administration called it the strangest complaint he's ever investigated.Police were called to the Little Rock International Airport after 50 human heads were found packaged and wrapped in the cargo hold of a Southwest Airlines jet headed for Fort Worth. The worker was startled by the discovery on June 9, prompting the Pulaski County coroner to confiscate all 50 heads. They remain in the coroner's custody. An FAA spokesman told KPRC Local 2 that the federal investigation has now concluded with no packaging or hazardous materials violations found. An Arkansas company, called JLS Consulting, was shipping the heads, according to investigators. The firm was sending the heads to a Texas firm for physicians' continuing education.Coroner Garland Camper told a local newspaper that he would keep custody of the packaged heads until he determined that they were obtained legally. Also, the plane was headed towards Dallas, not Fort Worth. Tiny Fail. |
^^^ Interesting
And that's the first time I've ever heard someone mistakenly use FW to refer to Dallas. Tarrant County's coming up, I guess lol |
lol yeah I guess so. FW is getting that helicopter port or something!
|
Did anyone else think of 8 Heads in a Duffel Bag?
|
Maybe they were headed for the Dallas-FW airport, but final destination was Fort Worth. Anyway, is it that big a deal?

Well I was just pointing out that they got the airport location wrong. It says they jet was on the way to FW, not the cargo (although I guess that's what they were implying). Not a big deal, just a random observance.
I probably should have gotten the article from my Dallas news station because they reported on it pretty well (better than I feel this Houston article did), but oh well. |
I love how the dallas/FW discussion is trumping the heads in a cargo hold.

But seriously, why did they (whomever thought to transport them this way) think this would not be an issue?? |
rofl
Also, why wasn't the loading crew informed by the airline and the company that there would be cargo like that on board (especially if it's not uncommon)?? I bet it's actually just food for the stockyards :P |

I wonder if they got a full head count...?
