Might I also point out that having one or two views that are considered liberal does not make either Bush a Democrat. Just because we have a movement to roust all of the RINOs from the party doesn't mean that there aren't a large number of Republicans and Democrats who don't follow the party line all the way. They may align with the Republican party in every way but these issues.

I sometimes forget that people don't always register for political parties that reflect their own political leanings. Where I grew up, it's more advantageous to register as a Republican so you can vote in the primaries. Here in NYC, it's probably more expedient to register as a Democrat since there is rarely a Republican primary. I guess it also helps when you're marrying into a Republican dynasty, LOL. |
