Colony Recruitment/Recs

Does anyone know if colonies ask for recs when they're rushing?

I always look at the greek life page when I'm researching grad schools, so I've seen a few NPC sororities ask for recs in the initial colonization.

I have had someone reach out to me about the new Alpha Phi colony at FSU. Can any Alpha Phis here share information on this topic regarding what is going on at FSU?

I know that our last few colony recruitments have listed an email address (and physical address) for alumnae to send recs. They are never required of course but are appreciated (esp. With our larger-scale colony recruitments with tons of girls showing up.)

I think you'll find the groups which "require" them for pledging will - and will probably have an alternate mechanism for them if that's the case. I know Delta Gamma does want them.

I am not working with this colony, so I can say nothing for sure. But I would think that if it is common to send recs for the other sororities at FSU, the same would be true of the Alpha Phi colony.
