Pre-Freshmen year Recruitment

I'm curious, what are some good ideas on recruiting students in high school or just coming out of high school?

If you are taking about NPC, the best answer is be very, very careful. You do not want to get into situations, especially with students just out of high school, that could be considered dirty rushing and possible rush infractions. My best advice, promote yourselves positively to recruit students. Wear your letters when you are out and about, be active in your community, etc.

well one thing that we've done is give away scholarships to outgoing high school students that are planning on attending our university. This allows us to meet them before they get here. Any other ideas???

Most schools frown on this because it can be considered dirty rushing. I'm going to go with DDDLady and say, be very, very careful if you do decide to have pre-recruitment activities.
My best advice is wear letters and make yourselves present during move-in (unless you have recruitment before official move in). Also, sign-up to be orientation leaders. It's a great way to promote greek life as a whole, and you can mention "I'm a (fill in your organization's name)," which will give PNMs a good image of your organization before recruitment starts.

Are you recruiting for a fraternity or sorority? National or local? Is there a governing body?

Provide us some context, as many of us are in national organizations that prohibit the practice.
