Already posted in the other thread, but I had to share again because it's a funny story...
During one of our trips to Puerto Rico a few years back, we were staying with my dad's uncle in the mountains. The was a bad storm the night before and the water went out due to the storm. This isn't an unusual instance for them, so they (as well as many residents) have a big water tank for back up. My dad woke up early one morning, and in his usual routine, went straight to the bathroom to wash his face. He turned on the faucet and quickly realized that there was no water coming out. Not wanting to wake up his uncle just yet to turn on the back up water, my dad went into the kitchen to grab bottled water to use to wash his face that way.
My mom and our family friends who go to Puerto Rico with us like to take little canecas (flasks...except they use plastic water bottles) of rum when we go to the beach, so that they don't have to bring glass bottles. Well, someone left out a plastic bottle of rum out on the counter, which was the one my dad grabbed.
He brought it to the bathroom, poured it in his hands, and splashed it onto his face. In his words "my hands were in motion to my face and about six inches away from my face when I could smell it and realized that something was wrong."
We woke up to him screaming profanities and "MY EYES!!! MY EYES!!!" In retrospect, it was pretty hilarious and has become a running joke to make sure you always check the water bottles!
