Overblown 'fad' that all teens must be engaging in, Summer 2010. (Also not that 'new' but ah well)

This won't catch on because it'd burn like hell. And in your EYES. Kids do stupid things when drunk are we shocked?

Same reason that although Spike TV "conclusively" proved you could get drunker through an alcohol suppository, no one does it.

Just, Wow.

Losing my vision completely is one thing that really scares the crap out of me. There's no way I'd pour anything other than eye drops into my eye. Silliness. This is why teens shouldn't drink.

The title is misleading - it's not a "new way to drink".
"Substance abuse expert Mike Gumbel claims kids aren’t eyeballing to get drunk faster, but do it when the effects of alcohol have already set in and impaired their judgment. Eyeballing is more of a prank than a way to become more intoxicated.

“They’re not doing it to get more drunk, they’re doing it as part of a fad. ‘I dare you to do this,’” Gumbel said."
Whatever it is, it's stupid.

I'm just wondering, could this be because people actually want to drink their 'fill' in alcohol as opposed to just going from zero to drunk as he!!?

That, and it involves sticking a bottle in your ass. And it would burn like hell too.

Yes, to absorb alcohol through the mucus membrane in your rectum it's probably the only logical way to do it. I didn't mean pills ;)

Dumb kids have always done dumb things. This is nothingness and it won't catch on beyond the dumb kids and the idiots who video tape it.

Well there are some drugs that are essentially powdered alcohol, but no idea if they work THAT way.

A women actually got convicted of manslaughter for killing her husband by giving him a brandy enema when he couldn't drink anymore due to severe dysphagia from esophageal or some other cancer, maybe head and neck. Couldn't let him get sober, now could she?!

Ew. I heard this on the radio this morning. I get really worried that my brother or sister are gonna do stupid stuff like this.

Already posted in the other thread, but I had to share again because it's a funny story...

During one of our trips to Puerto Rico a few years back, we were staying with my dad's uncle in the mountains. The was a bad storm the night before and the water went out due to the storm. This isn't an unusual instance for them, so they (as well as many residents) have a big water tank for back up. My dad woke up early one morning, and in his usual routine, went straight to the bathroom to wash his face. He turned on the faucet and quickly realized that there was no water coming out. Not wanting to wake up his uncle just yet to turn on the back up water, my dad went into the kitchen to grab bottled water to use to wash his face that way.

My mom and our family friends who go to Puerto Rico with us like to take little canecas (flasks...except they use plastic water bottles) of rum when we go to the beach, so that they don't have to bring glass bottles. Well, someone left out a plastic bottle of rum out on the counter, which was the one my dad grabbed.

He brought it to the bathroom, poured it in his hands, and splashed it onto his face. In his words "my hands were in motion to my face and about six inches away from my face when I could smell it and realized that something was wrong."

We woke up to him screaming profanities and "MY EYES!!! MY EYES!!!" In retrospect, it was pretty hilarious and has become a running joke to make sure you always check the water bottles!
