Senior Year??
This Fall 2010 will start my final year at college. I'm 25, and I wish I would have been more involved. I did Student Government and a few things like that. Is it too late to go through fall recruitment??
Do you think I would actually get a bid?? |

Well, you can go through recruitment, but that's not really the point. |

Whether or not you receive a bid is an entirely different issue. |
I simply want to meet people, become more involved, have lifelong friends, and do good work. A sorority seems to be my best option.
|
You are certainly allowed to participate in recruitment.
We can't say whether you'll get a bid or not. In most cases, a senior graduating in May is at a severe disadvantage. I know that at my school, I never saw a graduating senior get a bid. The only senior I ever saw get a bid was a transfer student who wasn't graduating right away. This senior also knew alot of people within our greek system as well. |

If you go to Sparsely Populated State University, East Bufu campus, you might have a chance.

it can happen that you would receive a bid, but the odds are against that happening. that being said, a senior did receive a bid at my daughters schools last formal recruitment . that school has a pretty competitive recruitment. when i mentioned to my daughter that i was surprised that patty pnm got a bid from abc sorority she just rolled her eyes and said,"i was really surprised that she rushed and that someone bid her. nothing against the girl, but she is a senior."
of course, i think that your age will be the biggest burden, but you certainly won't get a bid if you don't rush. |
There are also community based sororities you may look into - other GC members know more about them than I do (since right now I can't remember the name of the bigger one - it's after 5 and I'm still at work, apologies).

You're also 25, that's 4 years older than the average college senior. You're 7-8 years older than the average freshman/sorority new member.

Cue post about how she's 25 but can still relate to 18-year-olds.
I'm 25 and a sorority volunteer, and I'll admit that sometimes I have a hard time relating to college-aged girls sometimes. lol. |
