Sex and the City 2
I saw the thread for the first movie and didn't see a new thread. Pardon me if it already exists...and I'm the one who created it.
Okay, the countdown is on and I'm so excited. :D My friends and I are planning a grown "ladies' night out." And, yes, men who are secure in their masculinity will also be seeing this movie. :) http://movies.msn.com/movies/movie-t...snhp>1=28101 It's a celebration, beyotches! |
Okay, so I just heard the Liza Minelli version of "Single Ladies" set to appear in the film but if anyone has any decency for the elderly, not the soundtrack. Perez just posted it and it is AWFUL! OMG what were they thinking? She sounds like she can't breathe and is fighting the song word for word. I respect her work (mostly because I love her mother, I'm not particularly a fan of hers) but this is not acceptable.

Oh, I can't wait for this movie, and I'm not ashamed to say it.
I'm a Charlotte! :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: |

I love Mario Cantone. I saw him on Rachel Ray and The View. He is a trip. I'm excited that he's getting married in the movie and I think that's where Liza Minelli's "Single Ladies" comes in.
|
I went to the first movie by myself when my husband was out of town with our son. I'll probably do the same for this. It's times like these I really wish I had a posse of female friends in my area with whom to do fun stuff.

Other than that, I really hope that Carrie doesn't try anything with Aiden. He all but forced her to try to marry him, once in the street, simply because he thought he loved her and she was in a white dress and he in a tuxedo! I call tomfoolery. She waited ten years for the man she wanted (which was also a joke in my book cos he was playing mind games too), finally got him, and if she even so much as plays around like she doesn't anymore my tongue will be clucking away in a movie theater come the 27th... |

Carrie and Aiden seemed way too happy to see each other. She waited for Bigg for TEN YEARS (as Charlotte would say with all fingers in the air) and it's nothing but a desire for drama that would make her even flirt with Aiden. I can't wait. :D |
I just saw it. I liked it. I liked part 1 more because "less is more."
It was definitely a 2.5 hour infomercial. There are scenes that could've been left on the cutting room floor. There were attempts at funny that weren't as funny as the actress laughter symbolized. Scheduling conflicts made my friends and me have to see the movie separately. Same day, different theaters. We'll have to see it together to get the group effect. :D I will buy the dvd, but it probably won't be all worn and overwatched like my part 1 dvd. I also probably won't stalk it on HBO OnDemand like I stalk part 1. |
I have to wait until tomorrow to accomodate my friend b/c she doesn't work tomorrow but did work today. Last time we saw it at 12am day of. But this time it's the movie theater that serves food and alcohol, so dinner during movie instead of dinner THEN movie. YAY!
I know in my heart that this isn't going to be "as good" because of all I hear. Soo sad. :( I think the first one is my favorite movie. I could watch it any kind of way (even w/ director's commentary) and still not get enough. |

Yeah. :) Part 2 is getting slammed by at least one critic that I read. The stuff the critic said wasn't necessarily wrong, but I still was like :rolleyes:. Now, there are things that only true SATC fans can appreciate. Unlike other movies, the SATC people didn't cater parts 1 and 2 to nonfans who are unfamiliar with it all. You either like SATC or you don't. You either like these characters or you don't. You either like their...humor or you don't. The humor fell short in the sequel but I think that was because they were trying to do too much with the "plot." Notice the quotations. LOL. |

I love SATC, and I really enjoyed the first movie. I liked this movie okay, but all the main characters (except maybe for Carrie) seemed like caricatures of themselves. I would definitely not go see it again in the movie theater, though I will likely rent it, at least to see all the extras. But I don't think I'd even buy this movie - it just really didn't feel the same to me. :( |
I'm clearly disappointed in this sequel and my friends and I have agreed to pretend as though it didn't happen. We are only acknowledging the series and the first movie. The End.
This is the best article I've read about this movie so far: http://movies.msn.com/the-rundown/se...S5>1=MOVIES5 |
