which local news team do you go to for your coverage?

I'm thinking maybe I should watch once in a while.

Or for that matter, national even. Who is good?

I'm not a fan of any local news in my area to be honest. The least terrible of all of them is probably our NBC affiliate.

They're all pretty bad, but if forced to watch one, I'll watch that one.

I can't watch the news on TV. It's the visual equivalent of the Enquirer these days. It makes me nuts when they open with a sensational story and keep alluding to it, then finally telling the story after five commercial breaks.

I prefer to read news online (CNN or my newspaper), but half of the news online are videos. With commercials. Ugh.

Tell me about it. I watch the local news so that I can hear what is going on, but often have to hear about car accidents and fires in states that are no where close to us. I don't mind hearing about the major events, but I'm sorry, I really don't need to know about a fire that occurred in a one family house with no deaths resulting in a state that takes 24 hours to drive to on any given day.

The weathermen--now that's a whole different story. It's got to the point that they've cried wolf so many times that people don't realize if it's a real storm they should watch out for or not.

Wow! I thought I was the only one that didnt care much for local news (except weather)!

If I have to watch the local news it is usually the news on the CBS station. I think they do a better job with reporting throughout the state better rather than just Lexington or branching off into Indiana, Ohio, and Tennessee.

National news I am a Fox News junkie, but I do enjoying watching CNN Headline News on occassion and if Fox isnt available while traveling.

I love the local news in DC and will watch any of them, but my preference is:

NBC 4 after work (the team which brought you this clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TXZ0fWkAghA)

Fox 5 before work

Eyewitness News (CBS 9) at Noon if I am home

Add me to the list of those who don't regularly watch local TV news. The only time I ever watch it is if I know there is a specific story that I'm interested in seeing -- a really major news story or something I have a connection to. Otherwise, I read the paper.

As for national/world news, the only thing I ever watch is CNN -- occasionally Fox or MSNBC. I really can't remember the last time I watched network news. Again, I read the paper, read papers online and listen to NPR.

Our local weather guys are decent. A little over the top most of the time, but with that hail storm a couple days ago, we knew right where it was going and right when it'd get there, the size of the hail (my brother's car was totaled by baseball to grapefruit sized hail, insane), etc.

The local news seems like it gets some b-roll for some sort of story sent down by the network to make that story local, talks about random crimes and ignores anything truly newsworthy (like state budget talks).

wow, ditto on your exact lineup!

i think my overall fave is NBC4 (due to pat collins)
