Who is going to Convention 2010 Nashville

Who will be there this year?

Pardon the crash:

Is your convention at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel? I ask, because so many conventions are held there. Sadly it is under water due to the flooding, along with much of the rest of Nashville right now.

Hopefully they will get it up and running again soon, especially if this is where you plan to have convention.

We were at Opryland in 2007!

Theta Phi's won't be at Opryland. It will be at Franklin Marriott Cool Springs....which is probably also under water but hopefully it'll be all fixed by July!!

Sorry to crash....That's where AOII has our Leadership Institute and Leadership Academy too. Our headquarters is nearby in Brentwood. I haven't heard if the hotel had any damage. I know AOII headquarters is fine

If it's currently under water, there's no way it'll be fixed by July.

For your sake, I hope it's not, but I wouldn't be surprised if your HQ has to find another venue.

ETA: Hopefully it'll be fine from what ZTA72 just posted.

I just called there and the lady in reservations said they were open. Of course she didn't say if they had damage.

If they're currently open, then I doubt they had any water damage. I hope for TPA's sake, that's the case and they'll be able to hold their convention without issue.

From personal experience, I just know with major flooding like this, there's no way a business that sustained any significant damage could be open for business in 3 months! We have buildings in our downtown area that are still going through the clean-up phase after they were flooded out almost two years ago.

I totally understand....as a native New Orleanian whose parents lost everything in Katrina, I totally understand about some flooding.

But yes it will be interesting to see if they are up and ready for their Convention. AOII has our Leadership Institute there at the end of June this year. Since that hotel is close to our Headquarters we also use it. It's very nice and close to lots of great shopping.

ETA: When is Theta Phi Alpha's Convention?

TPA's convention is July 13-17, 2010. No official word from National Office about Convention/the Flooding.

PS - I'll be there if the hotel is still open! I'd also love to get some of our sisters to visit the downtown area and help clean up :)

OOh! Wouldn't that be a great service project?

I wasn't able to attend Theta Phi convention 2010, but from what I understand it went great at the planned venue.

Thanks everyone for all of your help and concern!
