"My Momma Ain't a Prostitute!"

And why would that matter? It's public knowledge that she served a sentence for sellings drugs. That guy's an idiot.

ForeverRoses 04-28-2010 01:51 PM

um, wow. seeing as the GM didn't get punched in the face, I think WR handled it well. (if someone asked me that question, they would get punched).

No, they wouldn't. ;)

Because you know that your ex-con mom would want you to ignore it and get that money. :)

I'm sure she would, but she'd want you to embarrass the hell out of him later!

"My job is to find out as much information as possible about a player that I’m considering drafting. Sometimes that leads to asking in-depth questions..."

Since when is "Is your mom a prostitute?" an "in-depth" question!?

Since Ben Roe likes'em young fresh and college clean...

BabyPiNK_FL 04-28-2010 03:10 PM

I would say that is a pretty in-depth question. It's very personal.

Since the league has started suspending players for violations of the personal conduct policy, even without any actual crimes committed, and since the rumors were that his mother was heavily involved in drugs, prostitution and gangs, it seems like a worthwhile angle to explore when you're potentially investing millions in the kid actually staying on the field and productive.

The question certainly lacked grace/tact/whatever, but quite a few of the "personal interviews" have a component built-in to ask pointed or borderline questions to see how the dude reacts to criticism or outright antagonism, and personality/response to these is useful to explore.

It was a test of the emergency football system. It was only a test.

I think he did quite well with it.

Couldnt the GM have asked Bryant something antagonising about himself or some other subject and left his mother out of it? That is the height of disrespect.

Well honestly there is or was a possibility of a member of the media asking the exact same question.
