List of Latino Greeks
 

I have done this just for curiosity and would like to share it.

Here is a list that I have compiled with all the Latin-based organizations that I have found. There are 4 larger groups, even though the first one has more subdivisions: Latino Orgs, Afro-Latino Orgs, Multicultural Orgs somehow related to Latin Greeks, and Puerto Rican Orgs with chapters in Florida.

1. Am I missing any org that you know of, be it National or Local?
2. Are there any errors?
3. Do I have an active org as Defunct or viceversa?

About #3....I'd like to know what you are basing this on? Hard stats or what you see on your campus/region?

Maybe I am not seeing it, but Phi Iota Alpha is missing from the NALFO list.

DiamondAthena: Like I said, Nº3 is "based on other threads and MY experience". It is not written in stone. No disrespect intended to the organizations mentioned. There are some threads here in GC that talk about this. My additions would be to include Multicultural organizations that appear listed as Latino orgs in books such as "Black Greek 101" or "Diversity in Campus". I was trying to be as exhaustive as I could, but everything in the list is work done by curiosity and could be many mistakes. Thanks.

TotallyWicked: I did not mean nor did I leave Phi Iota Alpha from the NALFO list. They are in the second segment 1.2 Orgs in NALFO and NIC. Thanks.

FYI, Malik was never Malik Sigma Upsilon, it was Malik Sigma Psi.

I'm not sure why you are listing "multicultural orgs with predominant Latino membership" as a sub-category of Latino greeks. I believe many of their members would be taken aback by this, if not offended. These orgs. were established with a different purpose.

Once again you are correct in your assesment. I put a clarification statement. No disrespect intended.

You know I am trying not to be offended but I was definitely taken aback because there is no way Little Dragon could know what the ethnic make up of my sorors is, because we don't even collect those kinds stats for compilation purposes. So even though I'm not sure the reason for my org being listed other than generalizations, I'm trying to be understanding and open minded :)

I apologize and thank you for understanding and openmindedness. I took the multicultural orgs out. There were 8 Multicultural orgs listed. Most of them have at one point or another being listed under Latino Greek listings in books such as "Black Greek 101", "Diversity on Campus" and others. I assume the authors did their research and had a reasons for that. For the others, I based myself in experience, in orgs presents at the inception of NALFO, and other threads in GC.

I was not looking to pick up fights. This is lists are for info purposes only and are here to be corrected, ammended and enlarged. The first large ammendment has been done. No problem.

Coeds
 

The last count I could find from www.latinogreeks.com stated that there were 52 orgs: 15 fraternities, 31 sororities and 6 coeds. Hoping that I have accounted for all fraternities and sororities, I would still be missing 3 coeds. Anybody knows which?

You did not have Chi Sigma Upsilon (Different from CUS).I heard they started as Latina and converted to Multicutural. They are now defunct and only had one chapter but their website is still up http://www.angelfire.com/nj/csu93/
