sending an interest email to rush chairs?

At the end of rush events, would it be a bad thing to shoot a quick short email to the rush chairs letting them know that you're seriously interested in joining that fraternity (as opposed to just rushing that one and a bunch of others)? Basically, it would just be a thanks for your work, good meeting to know you guys, and I'm very much interested in joining your fraternity (2-3 sentences).

Do people normally do that?

Depends on your school. Most places that wouldn't hurt. But every place is different.

I would think it was a very polite gesture, but personally as a rush chairman he should be the one getting your email and thanking you for coming and invitine you back. That is the job. We NEED you, you don't need us. Still it could not hurt to tell him thank you. It shows that you are an organized individual.
