Civil rights legend Dorothy Height was in intensive care at Howard University Hospital Wednesday night, hospital officials said.

Height, president emeritus of the National Council of Negro Women, turned 98 years old Wednesday.

Howard University spokesman Ron Harris said that Height was in "stable" condition. Only hours before, members of Congress and former cabinet members had gathered at the National Council of Negro Women headquarters for what was to be Height’s birthday celebration.

For more than six decades Height has mixed style, fashion and determination to become a stalwart of the Civil Rights movement.

Sorors are sending false email and text message forwards about this. The false reports and the fact that Sorors are mass messaging this instead of checking it out first really pisses me off. End rant.

It appears a news reporter told some sorors about her passing. Because the website only had limited info due to requests from Soror Height's people, it was hard to confirm, so unfortunately sorors ran with it to be the "first to runtelldat" (thanks CT4.)

Hopefully, lessons learned.

Has anyone heard any updated info on Soror Height?

Height Hall was the dorm where Whitley was the hall director.

Lol....man I couldn't remember how or why I associated her name with the show.
