Accreditation, reporting process, assessment, etc..
So every sorority/fraternity has some kind of reporting process for chapters that gets sent back to Nationals. I am a member of tridelts and we have a specific process that we have to keep track of and submit on paper back to Nationals at the end of the semester. We have to be involved in x amount of activities, get x amount of new girls, retain x amount, etc..
What processes do other organizations use and are there specific names for them? I know that Sigma Kappa has one called "Standard of Excellence" Furthermore, are these programs even that rewarding or helpful and who do they benefit? I was new member ed and dreaded filling out these reports because they were so tedious.. any suggestions on what to do or what the point is?! |

Just think of it this way, if you were NME and had no report to fill out...that would mean you had no new members, and that would really suck. It's not like you have to meet with each girl individually and read her report on what the sorority means or something. ETA: I don't understand what the poll has to do with the question you're asking. |
I feel like many nationals do not hold their chapters accountable, look at what happened at KY this weekend. This could have been prevented if the house had any kind of oversight from Nationals or even the university. Furthermore, are Nationals even holding us accountable for the right things?
My poll is in relation to the things we are being held accountable for. If we are being held accountable then chances are we acquired life skills of some kind. Kind of a loose connection, mainly I was just curious for my own personal interest. |

Meanwhile, I don't know that you did yourself or your sisters any favors by identifying your chapter and raising this in a public forum. Sounds like something that should be an internal conversation to me. |
First of all, the tediousness of filling out my reports correlates back to Nationals and was in no way meant to be rude or disrespectful, I was merely trying to figure out a way that could be MORE efficient and be of greater worth to the sorority as a whole. I am sorry you misinterpreted my comment.
The bottom line I am trying to get across is if there is a way that sororities and fraternities could take some time to reflect on what is important to them and come up with ways to prevent what happened in KY. I think that the things we were founded on should be what we are held accountable for and should be what we gain in terms of skills. I will continue to be a lifelong advocate for the Greek system and want to ensure that those who encounter it after me will be better equipped upon graduation with important life skills the sorority was able to bestow upon them. |

I think this is someone with an ax to grind about an entirely different matter. |
Also, if the OP felt this way about Tri Delta's reports, why would she vote "yes" in her poll?
Womp. |

I had no issue to begin with, I was just trying to figure out what other chapters were doing in regards to accreditation. I have no beef with my sorority, I just was frustrated with submitting my reports on paper when we can save money and paper by putting it online. And I put yes to my poll because my sorority has given me life skills that I am proud of. I guess I should of rephrased my first post, I honestly was just trying to get some opinions and feedback on what other houses were doing, I wasn't trying to become a martyr for my sorority.
