Thinking about rushing, advice please.

Hi everyone. I'm currently a sophmore and contemplating rushing a sorority in Spring Quarter. I am completely new to the Greek system and would like advice on what to do. I go to a school with a very small Greek system, as it is a very liberal school that doesn't really do sports or Greek life. What are the pros/cons of rushing a local sorority as opposed to a national? What are the differences between them? Would I get a lesser experience from a local sorority? We only have 2 or 3 nationals here. I'm also just kind of nervous as I'm not one to have even considered this before. It's all kind of a new idea. Thanks for any advice you can give!

Main difference: A local sorority is unique to that university, whereas a national sorority has chapters at other schools.

As far as pros/cons, your best would be to check out all the different sororities holding spring recruitment and form your opinions.

You could think you don't want to be in a local, but you may end up really liking them. Same with national groups.
