I don't know who Soror Linda White is, but because she is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha (and obviously very important to your sisters), I want to say I'm sorry to hear about this. My condolences go out to the ladies of AKA.

Please do not use the word soror if you are not a member of the organization.

I'm sorry. I was going by the name of the thread. I didn't mean to disrespect AKA sister, Linda White. My condolences go out to her family and the ladies of AKA. I don't know what the ladies of AKA do for the passing of a sister, but in Phi Mu we wear our badge (sometimes with a white ribbon underneath) in honor of her. I did that when a chapter sister passed away, last year. She was very young and it was unexpected.

Thank you. I looked at the pic and thought I must have had her confused with someone else.

I take it this was very unexpected?

Though Soror Linda's years of leadership were before my time in the sisterhood, I have had several occasions to meet and chat with her, as she was an active member of my chapter when her health permitted.

I found her to be, even in times that were very challenging for her, warm, open, and engaging to all of her sorors. Through these interactions, I came to know and admire her personally alongside my admiration for the legacy of her leadership and service in the sorority.

She will be missed.

Soror DeepImpact, have you gotten all the news? If not, pm me.

Also, I will ask that the tone of this thread remain respectful in consideration of our loss.

Wow. Soror L. M. White was Supreme when I became a soror. This is very sad news indeed.

I agree wholeheartedly. Especially with the part in bold.

Soror Little32, I tried to send you a pm but it said your box is full.

I know the my Sorority Sister had been ill for a very long time. While unfortunate for her passing, I pray for your beloved family, friend and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

Ya know, I heard about this the very next day, ... one day following Supreme Basileus White's passing. I still have a hard time believing it. Even though I was made under Basileus Norma White's administration, it was shortly afterwards that Basileus Linda White reigned supreme. So she will always be a very significant person in my sorority to me. Thank you for acknowledging her.
