Authorities believe the pilot was Joseph Andrew Stack.

He left a suicide note/ manifesto on the Internet. it can be read here:http://embeddedart.com/

it is creepy as all hell. :(

Having seen people deal wih IRS problems before, I feel badly for his pain, and his family.

Wow, that suicide "credo" is intense. Was he insane or just fed up?

My heart dropped when I first heard this today. My dad is flying today, so it was a minor freak out until I heard more details.

Still, very sad/scary.

Although this probably is considered to be a horrible sentiment, I agree. As terrible as his actions were, I feel badly for his pain and his family as well even though I'm sure most people would want to crucify him. Especially since it reminds people of 9/11.

In stating this, please allow me a little explanation. Both of my parents had their own businesses. When my mother started hers, a competitor turned her in to the IRS for misfiling forms. For the next THIRTY ONE years, she was questioned about each and every form she completed. She was audited (they found 38 cents she had miscalulated) twice during that time. My mother was one of the original Steel Magnolias, and never lost her cool. I honestly don't think I could have handled it the way she did.

I completely understand someone losing it over the water torture methods that our government tends to use over small businesses. If that makes me crazy, so be it. Start your own business, and see how friendly they are to you as compared to those multi-million dollar bonus frauds.

Eeek... I just read the Harrisburg report on this - the guy went to the CC there when my mom was there! Wonder if she knew him.

I know people who have dealt with the IRS and they had a world of frustration of pain. Sad. NONE of these people harmed others or themselves.

This man was crazy, shortsighted, and selfish. Crazy in that he planned this psycho response to his troubles. Shortsighted in that, as I always say, he felt that THIS is what his life had become and will always be because there was no way out as he say it. (having mental and emotional issues are a huge component of this but not the only factors that contribute to this). And selfish because he didn't think of the harm he was causing and hoped to take OTHERS out with him. He killed himself and a worker in the building. Son of a bitch.
