Strange Alpha Sigma Tau Badge
I found this badge on Ebay, and it says it's an Alpha Sigma Tau pin, but I've never seen anything like it. It's not like our badge at all. From what I understand, our badge has never changed it's original design, and I KNOW we've had the same one since the 1940s (when they claim this one was made).
It has a Mu guard attached, but even after looking at the national website, I can't find the Mu chapter listed (and I know it's not active). Does anyone know if maybe this is from another fraternity/sorority entirely? http://cgi.ebay.com/Old-10K-Gold-Alp...item23055026e5 |
Could it be this http://honors.fiu.edu/slife_tsa.htm instead?
|
^^^ I looked at that too, but I didn't think that an honor fraternity would have such an ornate badge. Could be, though.
|
Yea, it's possible. But then what is the guard for?
|
No honor society at FIU (espcially one that is unique to the school) is going to have a badge that ornate or that old. FIU did not even exist until the 1960s and I'd bet that honor society isn't much older than a couple of years.
It's probably a defunct local or regional. |
I could swear I saw a local fraternity called AST somewhere, but I'm blanking as to where.
|
Orientation badges can be very ornate. I was in an honor society that was the 1st Fraternity founded in 1798, it is now an English honor society.

*switches into Alpha Sigma Tau lane*
Maybe it was a badge that was specially made for a specific sister in the Mu Chapter... *Switches back into KATheta lane* |
